Healthy eating and school menus elaboration workshop

Last Monday, Coruña British School held a very interesting workshop on human nutrition and dietetics, leaded by two experts in this matter. In this activity, the participants could see in more detail the school menus elaboration process, as well as discussing healthy food habits amongst the children population in the 21st Century.

Child obesity classification and diagnosis and its effects, not only in childhood, but also in adulthood; the existing guidelines and protocols to make healthy and balanced school menus; problems related to children way of feeding, such as eating too many proteins – specially from animal origin-, too much saturated fat, added sugar or processed food, where some of the issues discussed during this workshop.
